The Life Gate for Persons with Disabilities (LGPD) was established on 12/15/2020 to care for people with disabilities. Our mission is to repair and transform the broken lives of people with disabilities through sustainable development and well-being in partnership with local community. The Organization is based in Kibenga cell, Ndera Sector in Gasabo district.
Disability is part of the human condition and almost everyone can be temporarily or permanently impaired at some point in life. According to Fourth Rwanda population and Housing census 2012, there are 446,456 persons with disabilities in Rwanda.
In Rwanda context, people with disabilities classified under different categories: Physically disabled persons; Sight-impaired persons; Deaf-and-dumb persons or persons with either of these disabilities; Mentally disabled persons; Persons with disabilities not specified in the above categories approved by the Medical committee.

Fostering the culture of inclusion where everyone matters!
Through different partners, LGPD have carried out various activities, including trainings, the distribution of Hygienic and school materials to children with disabilities so that they could return to school.
